When I was little I remember my grandmother would always make me things for the holidays. One Christmas she sewed me a new bedroom set and curtains for my room. For my first birthday, she made me a grey teddy bear. When I was little I loved that teddy bear and I carried it everywhere I went. My grandmother would make clothes and stuffed animals for all of the grandchildren. She also was an amazing painter. She taught herself how to paint. She loved to paint and would make the most beautiful paintings. When I was younger I would tell her I wanted to paint like her one day. My grandmother loved art she liked to draw and paint. She loved to make clothes and toys. When my grandmother was growing up she was taught to make clothes. She was born into a family with eleven children, and she grew up during the great depression. My grandmother always made everything herself even when she didn’t have too. My dad and his four sisters always appreciated that my grandma would make all their clothes for them. She made everything out of love, and everything she made was perfect in every way. When my grandmother passed away I took a lot of her painting. I had some of them framed, and they are hanging in our house in Chattanooga Tennessee and also our house in Marquette Michigan. I hope that her artwork stays in the family and will be passed down from generation to generation.

1. Briefly describe the content of the lecture/exhibition and what was being communicated:
The Exhibition was inside a hotel downtown Cincinnati. The hotel has two floors of different artists artwork. There were all types of art like photography, paintings, and sculptures.
2. Describe what inspired you about the lecture/exhibition including how it will affect your work as an artist:
My favorite artwork I saw was by Anthony Goicolea called “Bed Ridden” It's of a young man that looks ill from sickness or a night of too much fun. The hash marks represent pain or pleasure. Then he is surrounded by figures of himself that are morphing and melting together. In my graphic design artwork, I want to bring mystery and fantasy into my work. I want my viewers to question the meaning of my artwork.
3. Describe the weaknesses of the lecture/exhibition and how it could be improved or executed differently:
Everyone was really nice the artwork was unique and beautiful. The painting I liked was very well done. There was nothing I didn’t like at 21c Museum I was very impressed by everything.
4. Describe your personal feelings when listening to the lecture and/or viewing the exhibition:
I had a lot of fun going to the expedition downtown the artwork sometimes questioned social expectations. Some of the art was made out of ordinary things like one piece was made out of stickers. I was very impressed and I would like to go back and see it again.
